CUREX: seCUre and pRivate hEalth data eXchange

Innovative solutions for protecting health data

Systems Security Laboratory is coordinating a new project entitled “CUREX: seCUre and pRivate hEalth data eXchange”, which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 826404. CUREX aims at enabling secure and authorized sensitive health data exchange and aspires to empower healthcare institutions to efficiently, accurately and effectively assess and address their cybersecurity and privacy risks, as well as enhance the cybersecurity and privacy awareness of their personnel.

The CUREX concept

16 partners (2 large ICT Industries, 3 Healthcare organizations, 5 Academic partners and 6 SMEs) from 9 different countries across Europe are combining their efforts and expertise to develop one of the first blockchain platforms for risk assessment management under the GDPR. The kick-off meeting of the project has been successfully held on January 24th & 25th, 2019, at the University of Piraeus. Prof. Christos Xenakis, as Project Coordinator, hosted the meeting, marking the beginning of CUREX and setting the basis for a fruitful collaboration.
